The Gatwick School joins Aurora Academies Trust!

The Gatwick School (TGS), an all-through free school for children aged 4-16 which opened in Sept 2014, is now formally part of the Aurora family of schools, bringing the number of schools in Aurora Academies Trust (AAT) to five.  TGS is located on Manor Royal Business District in Crawley, West Sussex, and it currently has primary-aged pupils in Reception, Years 1 and 2 and secondary-aged pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9.  At present there are 330 pupils on roll but, when full, TGS will be home to 1020 pupils. TGS has a specialism in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) and has a theme of business and entrepreneurship.  The school has already made several close links with local businesses, including Elekta one of the world’s biggest manufacturers of Oncology equipment, and with Gatwick Airport.  Staff at TGS have already worked closely with AAT’s academies in East Sussex and the plan is for AAT to develop a second regional cluster of schools in the area.
