Creating opportunity and success for all our pupils
I began my leadership journey at Aurora Academies Trust in September 2019 when I was appointed as Head of School at Glenleigh Park. This was such a privilege, and I embraced the challenges of leading a team and building a positive learning environment. In this role, I focused on fostering collaboration amongst the staff, creating a supportive school atmosphere for all pupils and the wider community.
Recognising my commitment and vision, the Trust offered me the opportunity to advance to Head Teacher at Glenleigh Park. In this position, I expanded my leadership skills, whilst continuing to embrace a culture of improvement and inclusion, successfully achieving an Ofsted grading of good in December 2023.
Then in January 2024, my leadership journey continued as I took on the role of Executive Head Teacher, working at both Glenleigh Park and King Offa Primary Academy. Having the opportunity to oversee two schools in Bexhill, introducing joint professional development sessions and collaborating with various teams, which was really beneficial to my personal career development.
These roles enabled me to feel confident in applying for the role of Director of School Improvement for Aurora in June 2024. In this role, I am able to provide strategic direction to enhance educational provision across all our schools. My focus is on ensuring that every pupil receives a high-quality education, tailored to their unique needs. Working closely with school leaders to identify areas for growth and implement effective strategies that promote success.
The opportunities that I have been offered and able to access whilst working for Aurora are amazing and demonstrate the Trust’s commitment to nurturing talent and providing clear pathways for professional development.
